Spectrophotometer
Compact full-spectrum analysis for flow chemistry, batch measurement, and real-time process monitoring
Spectrophotometer is a fibre-optic-coupled UV/VIS instrument designed for inline and bench-scale spectral monitoring across flow chemistry and batch analysis workflows.
Spectrophotometer is a compact UV/VIS analysis platform developed for laboratories and process environments that require rapid spectral acquisition, low-maintenance operation, and flexible sample interfacing. The instrument integrates optics, electronics, power supplies, and light source within a single enclosure to minimise bench footprint and simplify installation. A xenon flash lamp is synchronised with the detector to support fast full-spectrum acquisition, while the fibre-optic architecture allows the sampling interface to be positioned independently from the main instrument body. This configuration supports deployment with flow cells, dip probes, cuvette holders, and related sampling accessories, enabling the same platform to be used for inline process monitoring, in-situ analysis, and routine bench measurement. The solid-state design removes the moving parts associated with conventional mechanically scanned spectrometers, reducing recalibration burden and improving robustness for day-to-day laboratory use. In continuous-flow environments, inline UV/VIS monitoring provides direct process visibility for steady-state confirmation, spectral trend observation, and collection control. Published continuous-flow work using inline UV/Vis demonstrates the practical value of real-time spectral analysis for identifying process conditions, distinguishing intermediate or protonated species, and improving reaction optimisation decisions. The capability of this instrument has allowed us to complete some challenging test equipment projects, for example [Industrial Test and Control Systems](https://staging.cambridgelogic.com/expertise/industrial-test-control-systems) → [Dye Sublimation Ribbon Testing](https://staging.cambridgelogic.com/products/dye-sublimation-ribbon-testing).
